The participants this year had a choice of over 40 courses in Italian and English from November to February, in different theoretical and practical sessions on topics concerning new technologies, new products and technical operations they find themselves taking on in their day-to-day work.
The training sessions alternated between “Common Technical and Managerial Courses” and “Brand-Specific Technical Courses”.

As usual, practical sessions in the shipyard and simulations on specially developed demo systems were combined with classroom theory lessons to ensure the training cycle met the needs of the many participants involved in this edition.
The already consolidated topics such as the presentation of new models from the Group's shipyards, monitoring and control systems for onboard equipment, and hydraulic systems, presented by our long-term partners, were joined by important new courses this year:

  • Seminars on design techniques and systems held by engineers from AYT (Advanced Yacht Technology), the Ferretti Group's yacht design and research centre
  • Courses on common after-sales support procedures and the new management systems ensuring correct flow of requests
  • A cycle of painting and gelcoat repair courses involving four shipyards, offering participants an overview of painting and gelcoat repair techniques and operations for the Group's different yachts.
The constant increase in participants, interest and appreciation has encouraged the Ferretti Group to supplement each edition with new training formulas to ensure constant advancement of its team of specialised technicians all around the world.

A day of the Service University was exclusively dedicated to presentation of two new ZF systems. The audience was composed of the service points already identified for the service network on ZF products.
The course showed off SteerCommand, the new electronic steerage system produced by ZF which allows independent control of the rudders based on boat speed. This included analysing connection of the system, setting of the main parameters and troubleshooting. The day also covered the Joystick Manoeuvring System (JMS), the electronic boat-handling system via joystick produced by ZF.
JMS acts on the main engines and bow thruster to allow sideways manoeuvres and rotation about the vertical axis.
The course programme also covered introduction of the system and its main components, as well as the theory behind it.

One of the major pluses of this edition, given the limited number of participants in each group, was the possibility for them to interact and ask questions, therefore setting up a real working debate. The range of topics covered and alternation of the different skill groups involved also ensured that this edition was received as useful, interesting and involving.
