SERVICE UNIVERSITY 2016

Service University, held every year in all the geographical areas, is an essential tool for training and development on important topics such as the new developments in the systems and instruments installed on the Group’s yachts.
The latest edition of the initiative, dedicated to the Ferretti Group service network in Asia Pacific, concluded on 26th May.
This has been the third event held directly on site, evidence of the Group’s belief that organising entire training sessions on site is the right path to take, making it possible to maximize the presence of technicians from the various countries in the area.

This year, Hong Kong was chosen once again as the venue for the event, also based on the possibility to use the Ferretti Group Service Center at Ap Lei Chau for the hands-on part of the courses, so that participants could carry out a number of operations directly on the on-board equipment.
The four days were organized to address important topics such as: electrical and navigation instruments and systems, distribution systems, entertainment and audio/video systems, on-board monitoring, gelcoat and fiberglass treatment, covering both theoretical aspects via classroom presentations and practical aspects in sessions using breakdown and repair simulations.
Organised by the After Sales department, the course instruction hinged on the important presence and indispensable support of representatives from the Group’s Engineering area and from partner suppliers like Biesse, Naviop, and Quantum.

An important new addition this year has been the introduction of simultaneous translation into Cantonese and Mandarin. Given the strictly technical nature of the training, this ensured that the course content would be fully understood and enabled the participation of workers who do not speak English, also giving them an opportunity to interact with the instructors.
The 26 participants confirmed their interest in this activity, its usefulness in improving their day-to-day work, and the much-appreciated opportunity to meet with representatives of the Ferretti team, the suppliers, and their colleagues who work in the different countries.

Now it is our job to amaze them once again next year!
